Cars in German Town Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a statement.

Police state they were notified late on Wednesday, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The substance had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Police then discovered many other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials state early analysis indicate the substance was probably blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; officials are not yet aware of any injuries in connection with the event," they commented.

City officials stated they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have appealed to the community for tips.

A senior representative commented the incident made him without words and needed to be solved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on online, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at people of immigrant origin in 2020.
